It’s been a while since we checked in with Boston’s FRKSE, but it appears that 2012 is his(Rajen’s) time as this lone performer has made some very cool music going back to earlier in this year. A six song record called GUILT SURVEILLANCE on DIVERGENT SERIES came out in early 2012 and it is filled with clattering industrial sounds, scraping loops, and strange electronics. This thing creeps and creaks. More recent tracks on the FRKSE bandcamp show a song based direction and other tangents, and are also worth your time. From GUILT SURVEILLANCE “Fanatic Paranoia” is a brief burst of ambient weird, a haunting, obscured melody droning above a circular guitar. It’s all very minimal, but never boring, and with just the right amount of fuzz. Looking forward to hearing more.
