Thanks to Dan Melchior’s Ghost In the Supermarket, I will never forget Record Store Day 2012. Like everything else we’ve heard from Melchior’s FAT discography this super exclusive batch of tunes delivers insanely good pop songs produced in an array of interesting and provocative ways. He exercises his ability to make wild and engaging rock and roll within the classic pop structures our ears were raised on, something almost everyone else fails at. From distant reverbed out tapping for percussion to webs of out of tune whistling for uneasy texture, our favorite garage monger always keeps it fresh with a healthy dose of noise inspired adornment. The title track in particular is a simply stellar display of the man’s genius, a well crafted and undeniably catchy pop song with clever jabs at consumerism that are sure to delight. This is SOLD OUT from Moniker Records but we know of 1 or two down at Weirdo Records… Don’t miss your chance to scoop this!
