Brody’s Militia are a prolific act from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Infusing punk, hardcore, fastcore, heavy metal and hardrock into a thrash framework, they craft incredibly dynamic songs. Cycle of Hate, released on Massachusetts’ Give Praise Records contains six tracks of Brody’s Militia’s unique brand of thrash/hardcore. Their 2012 LP Covered In Violence best shows their influences through the bands covered on it, ranging from Motorhead and Blue Oyster Cult to the grindcore of Napalm Death, the anarcho punk of Crass, and the japanese hardcore of Death Side. The hard rock n roll is not especially present on Cycle Of Hate, but is better exemplified on the upcoming, and long awaited, Napalm Zeppelin Raids EP (featuring Poopy Necroponde of tardcore legends Sockeye on drums) from SPHC. Napalm Zeppelin Raids’ tracks combine the band’s blistering fastcore with hardrock soloing. A lot of different ground is covered from release to release, but the sound always remains distinctly Brody’s Militia. Members are also in Funerary Box, Hellnation, Stabbed To Death, and Prosthetic Youth, among others.
