From the ashes of white fire pop sirens Grass Widow, emerges BRIDGE COLLAPSE. “Wilderness” is the first track released from this brand new band (also featuring bassist of Cold Beat) and is also the A-side of their debut single. Bridge Collapse play rumbling post-punk with heavy use of vocal harmonies that sounds something like a cross between Girls At Our Best!, Liliput, and Pylon with just a touch of the Feelies’ jitteriness. It all comes together in this great tune, with noisier spoken parts interrupting beautiful and interesting melodies and vocal harmonies, all floating on top of fuzzy jangling guitars, punchy bass, and tumbling drums. “Wilderness” has got me excited about Bridge Collapse and I’m looking forward to seeing where they take their sound next. Pick this single up from Crime on the Moon.
“DSM” showcases the many individual styles of Brockton’s Van Buren Records
It has been a fruitful 18 months for the Brockton super-collective Van Buren Records. Their two 2021 records, Bad For Press and Black Wall…
It should be noted that this band has 2/3 of Grass Widow in it (Bassist Hannah Lew and Guitarist Raven Mahon).
