Hey everyone,

Thanks for staying with us and supporting us during these crazy times. The donations and encouragement truly means the world to me and the Hassle squad! Never friends of analytics, we largely operate on instinct. So these donations actually let us know if we are doing something right, which we are, thanks to you!

It has been a little over a month since I made this fundraiser and during this time we have reported on the COVID-19 crisis in a way that has been meaningful to us. We try to break the news cycle and doom scrolling in a way that is positive for the thinking minds of our community.

For all of our COVID-19 reporting please visit: https://bostonhassle.com/?s=COVID to see what we have been up to.

That is not all we have been up to this past month. I am proud to say we received a $1,000 Seed Grant from the New England Environmental Fund to support and bolster our reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many thanks to Hassan Ghanny who scoped this grant for us.

For these reasons and more, we have decided to double our initial goal of $2,000 to $4,000. A significant portion of the initial goal will go towards members of our collective who have been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The other $2,000 will go towards supporting the Hassle in our endeavors through the pandemic and beyond as we look to the future to provide better programming, events, and reporting. One of the ways we look to accomplish these goals is to open up OUR OWN SPACE in the not-so-distant future! It could be a venue, a pop-up market, both? We’re not sure yet, but we sure need some scratch to start to plan and strategize. So please support the Hassle mission.

In rolling out our expanded goal, we are also offering our donors the chance to sign up for a special monthly donor newsletter that will include special donor updates, hand-selected playlists, notes from the Hassle crew, recipes, programming notes, early announcements on shows and events and more!

If you donated and left us your email, we will be reaching out to you to see if you would like to receive this email. If you did not give gofundme your email, please reach out to [email protected] to sign up for this special donor newsletter.

If you would like to receive the donor newsletter but have not donated, please donate and find a way to get in touch with us!

So where is all this money going?

$1,250-$1,500 will go directly into the pockets of the hardest hit members of our collective, no strings attached.

$500-$750 will go towards paying our web developer and other maintenance fees for bostonhassle.com or to save for future web expenses or fixes.

$2,000 (yet to be fundraised!) will go towards developing a Hassle ‘war chest’ so we can develop our programming as well as save money to open a space (venue/ pop-up market/ co-working space) in the near, hopefully not-so-distant future.

$1,000 New England Seed Grant will go to journalists and reporters to provide us original reporting surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks for your time and donations everyone! I look forward to reaching many more goals and milestones with the Hassle community.

Please Donate Today.
