Boston Cream, appropriately hailing from Boston, combines two seemingly incompatible things in “Satan Is On the Way”: the fluffy, sweet pastry and the Devil himself.

The track, which was released in December of last year, mimics that unlikely combination. It is catchy, fun, and subtly sweet yet has mild undertones of chaos and panic. Those dark undertones are woven in effortlessly to the song. The fusion is so sly and artful, it’s as if Satan had composed the tune himself.

With the lyrics limited to “Ooo,” “Satan is on the way” and “It’s hot,” there is an emphasis on the distorted, layered riffs and disco dance beats created by the band. (It’s also worth mentioning that Boston Cream is composed of local legends hailing from Barbazons, Creaturos, and Halleluja the Hills.) The result is an upbeat rock song you’ll want to dance (and hail Satan) to.
