Fresh Video

Come ye seekers of pathos, ye wanderers lusting for panic and catharsis: here is your fix. The Body‘s newest LP I Shall Die Here is due out on RVNG Intl. this April, and this sneak-peek single is nightmare-level craziness. Ghastly answering machine recordings, a bone-shaking off-kilter pulse, incomprehensible screams…the collage of terror trickles along for a glorious three and a half minutes. But it’s not enough for The Body (former Providence lords of loud whom we Hasslers booked many a time during their Eastern Coast days – Dan) – the mix stalls, erupts into the sounds of crunching earth and groaning mechanics, electronic steam kettles and high-energy lasers. It’s like the musical form of Abject Art spewed from the mouth of that poor fellow in Munch’s The Scream . And speaking of visual art, the video montage is just as haunting as the music it supports. I mean, come on, this music is so fierce it DISTORTS THE MOON. Keep an eye out for The Body’s new album, scope older tunes through the RVNG bandcamp, and tune in to this creepy jewel to sate your hunger until April.
