BOBB TRIMBLE – ‘Amour of the Shroud’

by

Massachusetts outsider bard BOBB TRIMBLE has been playing his own brand of swirling psyched out folk rock since the early 1980’s. His idiosyncratic musical prowess lay dormant for a couple decades, relegated to the relative anonymity of record head aficionados and local lovers. But with the democratizing powers of the internet, his dusty record gems got proper re-releases for a new generation of music lovers enthralled by Trimble’s soft psych style.

Now he’s back with a new live-recorded tape – The Flying Spiders in Brookyln – out now on perpetually sundazed Burger Records. The video for their first single ‘Amour of the Shroud’ is a ghostly swirl of phased out guitar licks and slide smoothly down a kaleidoscopic drain of regret. Trimble spins his melancholic tale like cobwebs that stick in your mind, washes of guitar cascading over light dribbles of percussion. The monochromatic video, filmed by Ian David McGregor and Erick Donaghue of local show promoters/art lovers EYE DESIGN, mirrors the loose, flowing sound with eerie wisps of ink, floating in the cosmic stream.
