The latest vid from Boston jangle pop favs BENT SHAPES (formerly GIRLFRIENDS) showed up a couple weeks back as they were winding up their US tour with JOHN VANDERSLICE. FEELS WEIRD is the established DIY-minded pop band’s debut long player (released on San Francisco’s FATHER/DAUGHTER RECORDS at the end of summer). “Behead Yrself Pt. 2” is rife with the stuttering, ecstatic rhythms and attitude blasting, scene conscious lyrical screeds that you’ve come to expect from this bunch. The full length brings together songs that this unit has crafted and has been crafting for some time, going back before their change of moniker.
