Pretty sweet video right here for Cambridge’s BANDITAS starring the band’s own Hayley Thompson-King and including a brief appearance by Mac Carroll (of PLANET OF ADVENTURE and BIG DIGITS). It’s been a while since their SAVE THE RATS record came out, but there is no set lifespan for an album, now is there? HARD TO KILL RECORDS put out SAVE THE RATS, a garage rock affair deeply infused with notions of country and even gospel sounds. “When He Comes Home” is no aesthetic exception, a pounding garage rock simmer featuring the twin soaring female vocals that BANDITAS are known for. The beautifully shot video from director BEN PHILLIPPO is spot on as the visual accompaniment to the song’s minimal pop veneer and roiling undercurrent. The video has even been awarded BEST MUSIC VIDEO at Atlanta Shortsfest. None too shabby. If you are local, you should catch BANDITAS somewhere in the Boston area very soon. If not, pray that they’ll make their way to you.
