It’s funny how you don’t realize how nostalgic you are for old-school Wavves until a fresh, gnarly garage-punk EP surfaces out of the blue. Or at least that’s how I feel after listening to Apartment 3’s Singles 2016, a brash trio of singles from a group of dudes who stumbled upon each other in a Burlington, Vermont apartment (hence the band’s name). My favorite is the noisy, but fiercely melodic and upbeat “Sunshine”. “Winter is Over”, a raucous farewell to Vermont’s longest season, is followed by the breathless “No Feeling”.
