Moonpool and Deadband — MEQ

MOONPOOL AND DEADBAND go back to the future with a new double 12″ that centers upon an early track by the duo that has been excavated for our pleasure.

That track is “MEQ”, and it is a prime example of what Nate Young (WOLF EYES) and David Shettler can do. They’d be making all of the Detroit techno elders proud if they weren’t so busy disappointing them with all of the strange sound splatter that they’ve applied to this techno grinder of theirs. Mutoid techno of this nature is alive! It screams with enough virility to have been remixed a number of times, and of course those remixes fill out the empty grooves in the vinyl slabs of this double 12″ once “MEQ”‘s 7+ minutes of relentless bubbling over is up. Out now, the first release on MIDWICH PRODUCTIONS which is Jim Magas’ (LAKE OF DRACULA, BULB RECORDS) new label. One of the best in the weirder, dirtier techno realm of today.
