If you haven’t seen a Quentin Dupieux movie, here is a great chance to see his absurdist sense of humor at work. While his previous two films, RUBBER and WRONG, play to a similar dark and surreal comedic style, WRONG COPS looks to bypass any loose threads of a plot and focus purely on the humor. The movie is mostly a compilation of vignettes centered around bad cops doing bad things all while listening to a heavy dose of house music (composed by the director himself, Mr. OIZO!). Beyond the fantastically weird performance by Mark Burnham (WRONG), the rest of the cast is rounded out by Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric), Steven Little (Eastbound and Down), Arden Myrin (MADtv), Ray Wise (a David Lynch and Tim and Eric favorite), and Marilyn Manson who seems to be enjoying some brief bits in comedy over the past few years.
