Foodman getting ace for me on a Friday morning. His sounds have been sweeter before, sure. Sunshine and a brand new weekend make me need something brittle I can rub up against though. And there are a couple sunbreaks – “YU-RAKU-CHO” certainly starts off with those bliss-full vibes, but tapers off into Ferrarian dissonance about halfway through.

Most of this hamakko ep has a serious dark streak, though. Fractured, psychedelic drumming slashes through the opening stunner, one of my favorite tracks from his fairly consistent oeuvre to date. Pinballs gone mad in the hella-drome. Serious batshit Crash Bandicoot-level arcade hate.

Elsewhere, Foodman takes you into the lounge and gets nasty with it. His remix of Chicago-based Chaz & Alex‘s “Yours” is a Second Life-plunge from the Third Story, with scenes of decadence and dismay flashing by from every window display. Don’t blink – he’s probably got another album out tomorrow. Digital on Ghost.
