Sam Cohen has local ties as the ex-frontman of Apollo Sunshine, and they opened the night for Kevin Morby. Sam’s solo work is a pastiche of retro-inspired psych-pop rock which doesn’t stray far from Apollo Sunshine canon.

Former member of The Babies and Woods, Kevin Morby led his OMG Band onstage to “What Are They Doing in Heaven?” and played mostly songs from his new album. The stage was all decorated heaven-style with cotton clouds, fake candles and flowers; periodically echoing this theme with repeats of “Oh My God”. Kevin and his band were very tight and he mentioned how much he loves to play shows in New England. They sounded great, with Sam Cohen and his bandmates joining in to support Morby’s OMG Band.
