I went to YES Fest! It was my first time (and the first fest of this kind) and it was a mind-boggling experience. I met a ton of great people and experienced hours of great music I loved. I was also a volunteer and captured talented musicians on film thanks to all the great people who ran & supported this event at the Brookline Teen Center on October 21st :). The Brookline Teen Center, Zumix, Girls Rock Campaign Boston, Newton YCCA and BRAIN Arts all lent a hand to make YES Fest possible.
I want to spread the word about YES Fest and keep showing up to related events because it’s not only fun but the idea behind this event is incredible! The entire festival is an opportunity for teens to show themselves and their art to the city, and for cool people to meet each other.
Teens are often misheard, so it’s refreshing to go to an event that is run by teens. For once, adults can feel like outcasts for their age! I strongly encourage everyone to come to the next fest and any future Yes fest related events… and tell more teens about this event!
