Fresh Video, Music, Went There

WAKING WINDOWS IS THE REAL THING

Portland, ME festival is every bit as awesome as it's Winooski partner

by

It’s rare for towns as small as Winooski, VT, to have as large a music scene as they do, really rare.

But every year, the Onion City hosts the Waking Windows festival, a three-day gathering of music, art, and celebration that spread to Portland a few years ago and now Detroit, as of this summer.

As a Boston Hassle volunteer and video contributor, I went to the Winooski edition of Waking Windows this May and shot this recap.

Waking Windows Portland is three short weeks away (Sept 29-30), so now would be a good time to remember to book your airbnb, buy your ticket, and take a little road trip. The two-night downtown event will boast 75+ bands, a reading series, performance art, films, installations, live podcasts, interactive events like a synth petting zoo and VR tour of Portland, and a ton more.

If you’ve never been to Portland before, or even Maine for that matter, now is a great time of year to get out there and explore this awesome northern New England coastal city and experience a truly rad celebration of art and community from around New England.

To see more performances from the bands featured in the recap, continue watching the playlist, or follow my video channel, Earthly Media.
