Treat Yo Self August is one big fat joint of an effort. It always is, what with combining several complimentary bands together with a pair of extreme visual artist taking over some unsuspecting venue for a night of music and art celebration. But this month Eye Design, Boston Hassle AND Park Slug have joined independent booking collective forces to present some of the sickest simultaneously analytical and apathetic indie rock outfits on the Eastern Seaboard. Starting up north we have MONOMYTH and NAP EYES from Nova Scotia, down to MA our beloved KRILL and from down NJ we have LIAM BETSON (Ex Titus Andronicus) coming up to do his thing. The vibe will be extremely high at this one because all of the bands seem to be coming from the same conflicted headspace, bouncing between who cares and let’s do something about it. Maybe they’ll figure it out together tonight but let’s hope not because that’s what is fueling those accessible, tweaked out jams we all love so much. Enjoy.
