Hello Experimenters!
I’m back after a long break to move! I am still partially living out of boxes and getting settled in my new digs, but I’m figuring out this new routine. I missed all of you while I was away. Drop me a line! Let me know what you’ve been up to.
On my end: I’ve got new students who are truly delightful, I’m working out of the first office that I don’t have to share with colleagues (though let it be known that my last set of officemates were a joy), and I’m taking full advantage of the fresh food options in my less urban digs. In short, things are good, I’m working hard, and–best of all–I like the work.
You’ve probably noticed that this is coming to you on a Tuesday instead of Monday. It turns out that my Monday/Wednesday teaching schedule makes it difficult to mail out on our normal day. I think it’s fair to say that this is going out on Tuesdays this Fall.
In solidarity,
Gabby

Things to Do
Assignment: It’s time to learn that thing you’ve been meaning to learn! You know the one that I mean. Maybe it’s a household chore you’ve been putting off learning or a feather you’ve been meaning to put into your creative cap. For my part, I’m going to start experimenting with cyanotypes after looking at others’ attempts with envy. What’s the thing you’ve been meaning to learn/try? Who can help you figure it out?
Journal: As we approach the ninth month of this 12 month calendar, take a moment to take stock. What have you done this year? What books have you read? Who have you spent time with? What have you done creatively? Try not to think of this as a checklist or all accomplishment oriented. Try to think of how you’ll remember this year in a few years time. What does this year mean to you?
