Hello Experimenters!
I fell asleep thinking about how excited I am to introduce next week’s assignment to you and how much possibility I feel around the month of June for no particular reason. I think this optimism may show itself in a number of ways which could include an Instagram Q&A or maybe a TWIE Discord so we can share resources and ideas as a group. Of course, it’s also possible that neither of those things materialize. Basically, I’m just saying that I’ve enjoyed hearing from all of you, and I’m always thinking of ways to make that occurrence more common.
In solidarity,
Gabby

Things to Do
Assignment: Last week, I challenged you to consider how you might remake or respond to a work by an AAPI artist you had been learning about all month. While I recognize how big a task that is I also know that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. I challenge you to choose a single shot from the film you would hypothetically respond to and make a still the mimics or responds to that shot. Try not to get hung up on medium or staging. Make this image from the heart. If you post that image to Instagram and tag @this_week_in_experimental I’ll be sure to post you on the page’s story.
Journal: Set an alarm for 10 minutes. See how many things you can list that you are grateful for in that 10 minutes. They can even be small things like your favorite snack. Hold onto that list or a picture of it for tough moments.
