Open Positions: Art writer – We are looking for writers to discuss, review, and experiment in coverage of the local arts in Boston and surrounding New England areas. Interested candidates should be passionate at looking through a critical lens at our cultural events while exploring and developing a personal voice as a writer.
In addition to traditional criticism, we appreciate writing that experiments in both style and form, possibly becoming an aesthetic work in-and-of-itself. If you are looking to review an exhibit at a museum from the point of view of a light fixture, or describe that basement pop-up you went to last weekend entirely through GIFs – the Hassle is the place for you.
Additionally work that highlights artist run groups or community organizations that strive to create a diverse and inclusive space for creative development are deeply important to our coverage.
Pieces will be published in the Art Attack section of the Boston Hassle’s web publication. Opportunities to publish in print for our monthly issue of our newspaper, The Compass, are also available.
Email [email protected] if interested or if you have any questions.
