The Fourth and Final Sleepover Fest!!

by

Growing up and throughout my adolescence I was never a fan of drugs or alcohol. Throughout high school I remember feeling alienated and uncomfortable around their pervasive presence and there were more than a few missed opportunities because of their near constant use in social circles. Let me be clear for a moment – I’m not one to judge. And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to partake in some of the above mentioned sins. But as a young person, I remember wishing there were more opportunities to experience culture in an environment free of social pressures. It’s why I’m so happy to see events like Sleepover Fest happening in 2017 – and why I’m sad that this is the fourth and final iteration of an event spawned specifically with these feelings in mind. This two day friend fest includes an absolute smorgasbord of phenomenal local talent and promises to be a safe and welcoming environment FOR ALL with absolutely no substance use of any kind (with the exception of everyone’s Polar seltzer addiction, let’s be real). Some highlights include Blau Blau, Break the Chains organizer and social activist Evan Greer, pop-punkers Mint Green, an acoustic performance by The Hotelier, the lo-fi verbal spit-balling of Pink Navel, and beloved Boston rockers Dump Him. That’s only HALF of what’s on offer so be sure to grab your sleeping bag, leave the mind-alteration at home, and get away from it all for a few days. Amidst this countries current state of turmoil and unrest, some clarity and community is much needed.

Check out some vids from years past and get excited!!!
