I wish I could tell you more about A Sound Circle + SURRENDER and why I’m super excited to attend

BUT YOU’RE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO COME AND FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOURSELF.

TODAY AND TOMORROW.

Boston-based performance, sound and video artist Philip Fryer will perform at the BUAG Thursday December 19th & Friday December 20th from 3-5pm.

Philip Fryer (b.1981) is a Boston based performance, sound and video artist. His performance work is an ongoing investigation into mortality and ephemerality. Some of the themes that are present in his work are circuits and cycles, chaos and order, sonic and visual disturbance, and meditation. The objects he chooses are directly tied to these elements, such as Cassette tape loops, moving video projections, and fabric body extensions. He and his collaborator Sandrine Schaefer are co-founders of The Present Tense, an initiative that has organized 10 performance events since 2005 and has exhibited the work of over 200 artists. The Present tense also hosts an online performance art archive on its website. He has exhibited his own work at The Darling Foundry (Montreal, QC), Grace Exhibition Space (New York, NY), Vertigo Series (Cedar Rapids, IA), Idyllwild Arts Academy (Idyllwild, CA), and the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston, MA).
