ALYSE STUCK: LIGHTENING ROD @§üb∫amsøñ (South End)

by

Tonight Boston artist Alyse Stuck takes over §üb∫amsøñ, an artist residency program and gallery space housed in the basement of Samsøñ. The scope of Stuck’s work includes sculpture, performance, printmaking and photography, the underlying tone of which recalls the earnest exploration of self-portraiture and the female body present in Francesca Woodman’s images. As part of Stuck’s first solo show, curated by Assistant Director Silvi Naci, the artist will be performing her piece Untitled (performance). Employing the process of blind contour drawing to capture her own figure, the artist creates a hybrid experience of performance art and two-dimensional work, engaging the physical movements of her body in order to approach the intangible self. Come see the performance and the exhibition before it closes on Saturday!

Performance: 10/2, 6-8pm
On View: 9/11 – 10/3
