Boston Hassle is proud and psyched to present a night of ripping bands that have been around the block – PROTOMARTYR and PARQUET COURTS. Their kind of groovy, tight post-punk is just what the doctah orrdahd for the likes of us despondent, angsty and over-worked East Coasters. Whether they know it or not, the kids like you and me, lurking around the underground, we need this music. In Parquet Courts’ case, the kids know. The Brooklyn gang have got that track record – with all the catchy jams, touring and solid DIY philosophy behind it. They have somehow managed to bridge the gap between (much deserved) mainstream recognition and unfuckwithable underground cred. Anyway, good for them. Beyond the hypnotic pulse of their tunes, they also rule for coming to town with like-minded Detroit crew PROTOMARTYR and having friends SWEET JOHN BLUME round out this bill of badass, hooked up punk delivered with that deceptively captivating blankness.
