The Friends of the South Boston Branch Library are back with their bimonthly book sale, this time on Saturday 3/14 from 10am4pmBPL in South Boston. A regular treasure trove for the random and resourceful. This sale features some cheap AV materials as well as lots of books. www.BPL.org

 

March 14 marks the first day of the MUSEUM OF FINE ART’s new exhibit on iconic American fashion photographer HERB RITTS, whose work from the ’80s and ’90s you’ll be sure to recognize.  His bold style and love for the figure elevated the public’s view of fashion as art, while his portraits helped establish cultural icons. Stop by any Wednesday after 4pm to get a free peek. www.MFA.org

Hop the commuter rail and hoof it to the WORCESTER ART MUSEUM for a horrific but hopeful photographic exhibit there through 5/15AFRICA’S CHILDREN OF ARMS shows child soldiers from more than 20 countries who’ve been forced or recruited into military service. Kids doing things they simply do not understand. The trauma these children are suffering now can only be comparable to the ghosts of these experiences that promise to haunt them forever.  $14 Adults/$12 College Students/Free 1st Saturday of every month, 10am–noon
