NEW Editor-In-Chief NEEDED for this Boston Hassle website

Is it you? Is it someone you know?

This website is facing suspension (or at the very least a suspension of its normal everyday operating procedures). Our founder and editor-in-chief Dan Shea will be stepping away from the website production as of August 2016 to focus on the running of and growth of our BRAIN Arts nonprofit. No matter what happens, BRAIN Arts’ music, film, and other IRL events will continue along with the event listings we provide through the Hassle website. The nonprofit’s efforts to establish a venue of our own will also continue, but the day-to-day and monthly operations of this website must be carried on some else’s shoulders for a while (at least).

We here at the Boston Hassle website seek an  Editor-In-Chief who will be able to coordinate content/ writers, work with existing section managers, set deadlines, as well as create and maintain a schedule for content/production. Ideally, the Hassle website seeks an Editor-In-Chief who already knows the landscape of the local arts (music, art, film or some combination of the three) community here, but as long as this individual is dedicated and can grasp the potential of our organization and this its website medium, the role could be successfully filled by anyone. Most importantly, the EIC must understand the effect the Hassle website has, and could have on the larger arts and cultural movement happening in and around Boston.

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW: This endeavor comes with an amazing team that is ready to help every step of the way. Moreover, it is supplemented by the resources of the BRAIN Arts non-profit organization: Volunteers, a place to meet, and the momentum of the past 5+ years of this website’s existence.

Think about it. If no one steps up to fill this void the Hassle website will be suspended until we get our own venue or find a way to generate reliable revenue on which to sustain these labor-intensive projects. We urge you to consider taking the helm for a while and to share this opportunity with anyone you know who is serious about making a difference in the New England arts scene.
