To say that contemporary color photography aesthetic can be banal is an understatement. Thank god it doesn’t apply to Bahar’s work though-
“Melting North”, Yurukoglu’s first solo exhibition, is sure to turn you on. Her use of color and fantastic imagery- the fucking use of material and balance of concept and formal qualities is more than I can take. The work activates and engages in a number of different mediums- creating an inclusive environment that immerses the viewer into the icelandic landscape (where the work was made).
Sophisticated. Sexy. Smart. Cool.
