April has been packed with opportunities to mingle with your local zinesters and we’re only halfway through. This weekend, April 21-22, has 2x the opportunities to zine mingle at Seek + Find Boston New Zineland and the first annual Massachusetts Feminist Zine Fest (MFZF). MFZF seeks to celebrate the work of feminist zinesters and will be hosting over thirty tablers from the Boston area and beyond, including local zine libraries Papercut Zine Library and Dorchester Art Project’s new zine library. This year, MFZF celebrates personal zines or “perzines,” and the power of zines to validate our experiences and connect with others to build community.
Zine readings will be held at Beatley Library on Saturday, April 21, 6-8pm followed by the fest on Sunday, April 22, 11am-5pm at the Main College Building at Simmons College, 300 The Fenway.
If you would like to show your support by volunteering at MFZF, fill out the volunteer info sheet for the MFZF planning crew. Unable to volunteer? Then attend! This event is free and open to the public. Activities for kids will be available at the fest so the whole family can enjoy learning about perzines!
