EDM fans, even if just for 10 minutes, step away from the dubstep, vintage house, disco, or whatever else is currently hot…. and rage to some tweaked-out jams from this cheeky dark corner of techno that never seems to get the attention it deserves. One notable purveyor of such enjoyable wrongness is London-based Mark Hawkins, around for ages as a DJ and producer and host of the excellent leftfield techno site http://signalsfromsouthwark.com Hawkins has a new release called TRICKY NORD. And man, TRICKY NORD fucking RULES! These tunes will make you want to smoke dust and have sex with your air conditioner… the opening title track and “Notron Error” are the standouts on this price-negotiable bandcamp release, truly awesome illegal fist-pumping wonky headbangers. The middle two tracks, while subdued in comparison, still uphold their membership to the incorrect-alien-funk club and will no doubt have you doing flares and 1990s outside of Burger King within seconds! I have no idea where I’m going with this post. Just break out the lube and start pumping to these beats, yo!
