by

BAUHAUS-DESSAU-OPENING-1926

Join historian and designer Jane Thompson at the Boston Society of Architects Space, as she explores the German Bauhaus movement Walter Gropius’ proposal for the intersection of fine art, craft, industry and education. More than just a lecture, Thompson’s presentations combine images, music and her own interviews with Gropius and other influential Bauhaus pioneers to illustrate the evolution of this Modernist school of thought. Formerly Assistant Curator of Architecture at MoMA, Thompson now works in urban planning alongside her husband, Ben Thompson, at Benjamin Thompson & Associates. She is also founder of I.D. magazine, which celebrates all channels of innovative contemporary design.
