The long gestating new version of the Boston Hassle webzine is on the cusp of becoming a reality (thanks to our main web warrior JAMES STAUB).
There will be many improvements around these parts, the 3 most immediately important being:
– MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS TO OUR FILM FLAM (film) & ART BLAST (art) sections. MORE VISIBILITY, MORE OPPORTUNITIES, & MORE PROMINENCE for these sections/ areas of coverage that are only a year and a half old, but have already reached and served to connect so many artists and a huge open minded audience. PLEASE EMAIL US TO GET INVOLVED.
– MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS TO ALL OF OUR EVENT CALENDARS: ART, FILM, & MUSIC. Better USABILITY across the board, and the possibility to expand into other kinds of event listings if there is interest and we can get the help. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF THIS IS YOU.
– A new prominent area for FEATURED CONTENT. This FEATURED section of the site will allow our existing sections to better highlight more in depth content, longer form writing, longer form video content and the like.
FURTHERMORE, THE FEATURED SECTION WILL ALLOW US HERE @ THE HASSLE TO BETTER FEATURE AND HIGHLIGHT CREATIVE & ARTISTIC CONTENT THAT FALLS OUTSIDE OF OUR CURRENT JURISDICTION: COMEDY, FICTION, deeper Boston culture/ Independent art culture, etc. JOURNALISM, INTERVIEWS of all kinds, TECHNOLOGY COLUMNS, SHORT FILMS, BEER COLUMNS, ANIMATION, ARTISANAL COLUMNS, ONE-OFFS, HUMOR, SCIENCE COLUMNS, COMICS, FOOD COLUMNS, CULTURAL COMMENTARY, ARCANE INFORMATION COLUMNS, ETC. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH TO GET INVOLVED.
The sky is the limit really.
The Hassle’s objective is first and foremost to SEND Boston & New England art/ music/ film/ culture TO the world, but it is absolutely not limited to such as can very much already be seen. With the same enthusiasm we endeavor to BRING the different art/ music/ film/ and cultures of the world TO Boston and New England. WE SEEK CONTRIBUTORS OF EVERY KIND, FROM WHEREVER YOU MAY BE GEOGRAPHICALLY LOCATED. We already feature writers from all over the U.S., so don’t let your coordinates act as a barrier!

An individual taking on this role will actively ferret out BRAVE, NEW, DIVERSE, INTERESTING, FUNNY, WONDERFUL content for inclusion on the Boston Hassle site & if applicable perhaps the Boston Compass newspaper as well. Content Manager(s) will work to bring new kinds of content to the Hassle site & work with the editors of the Hassle’s current sections to bring new kinds of content to each.
