This exhibit deconstructs the respective art books of locals KARL STEVENS + RAUL GONZALEZ and gives us a fresh perspective on the illustrations therein. THE LODGER by Stevens is drawn from a years worth of wit that used to be found in his weekly comic strip “Failure” for Boston Phoenix (RIP). Then buckle up for a stellar exhibit of Raul the Third’s illustrations from his graphic novel LOWRIDERS IN SPACE, co-created with writer Cathy Camper. Go for a stroll through the Public Gardens and get familiar with the NEW ENGLAND SCHOOL OF ART & DESIGN if you aren’t already and explore these two men and their pens.
