Jeremy Harris just retired his Lazy Magnet project after 20 years of dragging it across a variety of genre-scapes, picking up and discarding various styles, techniques, and gear along the way. He always remained focussed on trying to “make it fun again” even while somewhat contradictorily exhorting his audience (and himself?) to “do midi.” After lovingly cannibalizing a variety of -waves with his Night People tape and LP on Bathetic, he most recently turned towards producing a more pure form of dance music. This culminated in some tapes of techno & house jams under the Lazy Magnet moniker and a white label 12″ on Atlanta’s CGI Records as JEROME. This EP features a pair of acid house tracks with some lush & dubby synths layered over very heavy duty grooves. You can still grip the wax for your own mixes or check mine if you don’t believe me. You can also catch JEROME live on Wednesday July 2nd when he makes a stop at our monthly party SCANNERS.
