In regard to the incident involving Voidgod that occurred on June 8, 2015:

As show bookers, we believe in hosting shows and creating spaces in which all people feel welcome and safe.  While it may not have been the initial intent of Voidgod to offend, we recognize the impact their performance may have had on the audience and our fellow hosts of the Whitehaus.  We strive to book bands without any history of racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and other offensive behavior to play our shows. We cannot entirely control how bands conduct themselves when playing shows, but moving forward we will do our best to  screen them beforehand.  Blackface in any iteration is inseparable from the racism it references and is itself racist, no matter the intent. We apologize to anyone who was triggered or felt harmed as a result of this act, and we are actively working to prevent similar incidents from happening again. This event has become the impetus for ongoing discussion. We invite you to join the conversation by coming to one of our meetings.
