4/12 // 11am-2pm
Art viewing: 11am-1pm
Lunch and discussion: 1pm-2pm
Sometimes going to a museum can be an exhausting experience; you enter with the feeling that you need to see every piece, visit every wing, before five o’clock and the doors shut. What do we really take away from an experience like that? For me – sensory overload, for the most part. Slow Art Day offers the opposite experience. Now in its sixth year, this international event encourages viewers to look at just five pieces for ten minutes each, convening afterwards to discuss what they’ve absorbed.
Both the MFA and ICA will be hosting in Boston this year. Contact your location’s host to attend.
