GOLDEN RULES FOR GOLDEN PEOPLE (out on RORY RECORDS/EQUAL VISION RECORDS) is PRETTY & NICE‘s new record. Much like their recent EP, US YOU ALL WE, and really everything the band has ever put out, it sounds amazing. If you were to ask me who the best pop band was in Boston then this crew of new wave lovers would be on a very short list that I would be looking over to give you my answer. The harmonies are perfect, the rhythm section is deadly, the arrangements always fresh and interesting, and of course the songs, the songs are great. If you can’t appreciate pop music then hey, that’s your bag, don’t worry about me I’ll be digging into this weird sugar right over here. The vid is for the band’s “Q_Q” off the aforementioned new record, and it’s a ripper. For those of the dwindling (pop) rock persuasion who may receive a bruise on your head from pogoing too hard to this wonder. the video chronicles a fictionalized day in PRETTY AND NICE’s visit to Austin this year. This music ought to be loved by the many. Also just found out that this guy Max who I used to know for a minute many moons ago, put out this new record. Good work Max.
