OPENING RECEPTION: Keira Kolter “Spectrum” & Harold Reddicliffe “New Paintings”

Fri, Apr 5 2019 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Gallery Naga

An opening reception will be held at Gallery NAGA in Downtown Boston, Friday April 5th. The reception marks the start of two exhibits in the gallery featuring the newest artworks of two contemporary artists: Keira Kotler and Harold Reddicliffe. Though the styles of the artists are vastly different, both bring a boldness sure to thrill. The exhibits will remain showing through the month of April, ending on the 27th.

Keira Kotler is a Bay Area based artist focused primarily on light, color, and the invocation of emotion through the relationship of the two. Much of her work, including “Spectrum: Between the Sea and Sky” demonstrates the way these elements combine to create an experiential piece of art that changes depending on light and perspective. The collection itself is comprised of a number of bold and multi-leveled pigment prints on sheets of aluminum.

Harold Reddicliffe’s work can be best explained as still life with an element of abstracted realism. The combinations of various knickknacks and mechanics against monochromatic backgrounds allow the viewer to explore space and geometry as at once contrasting and connected. His Gallery NAGA exhibit “New Paintings” is no exception to this style, and includes over a dozen new explorations of unique form and bold color. Reddicliffe currently teaches at the Boston University College of Fine Arts.
