Another great event coming to you as part of SoWa’s First Fridays! The opening event for artist Katherine Mitchell DiRico’s exhibit Instruments of Synesthesia will take place at the Abigail Ogilvy Gallery from 6pm to 8:30pm! This incredibly unique show features commentary on the way society is growing ever more connected. A full-senses-engaged experience, Instruments of Synesthesia incorporates sculpture, sound, and movement to represent the constant unrest of a world that always has to be pressing forward.
DiRico’s work is presented in a way that surrounds and consumes the viewer, with art emerging from walls, ceilings and floors alike. This exhibit is an experience of the senses as much as it is a celebration of the artist’s technical skill. In the sculpture’s interaction with disjointed noise and a constant hum, it creates a sense of urgency and unrest familiar to all living in this technology thwarted age.
This event is free and open to the public so really, if you’re a fan of the arts, you have no excuse to miss something this awesome!
