What’s a couple hours right? From Boston a couple hours will take you to a dozen wondrous cultural hubs in New England and one of the most impressive of these is the known zone of WESTERN MASS. It’s got it all really, plus an extra serving of heavenly nature. Similarly to Boston, venues, record stores and cultural resources in general come and go without warning and yet a proud always find a way to hold down the fort. Such is the case with Adam Langellotti. I first became familiar with this outstanding fella through his band Sore Eros in probably 2010 and our paths have just kept on crossin cause he’s as obsessed with this whole underworld independent music nonsense as me. Anyway suffice to say we are all pumped about Adams project NEW PARENTS and their brand new full length that just dropped on Feeding Tube last month. Hazy as hell experimental but beautiful psychedelic folk-pop of the highest order. Joining them on the Rt 2 caravan will be fellow lifer Jeff Gallagher’s latest group effort Bridge Of Flowers, no doubt named for the area’s seasonally spectacular crown jewel. Also hazy as hell but BOF has a bit less finesse and more of a no-frills rock foundation. It’s good. Good enough to ensure the presence of two of our own tenured DIY doers Spencer C Grall (of Doomstar! And Creaturos fame) and Erica Sutherlands gorgeous moody swing thing Littlefoot. It’s really going to be a pretty bill of pretty heady players so come spend a couple hours with us tonight and appreciate the visit from these find psych players from the pioneer valley.
