The seasons are definately turning, and while the vegetables in our gardens have stopped growing, Spaceus seems to be growing like a bean!
You may have been able to catch Mapping Worlds Part 1 at the Roslindale Substation, Spaceus’ summer location. Well the ideas continue into the group’s new(NEW) location in East Cambridge, which they are calling the Annex.
Mapping Worlds 2 is the first installation in the Spaceus Annex.
Mapping has a number of applications—from geographies, to experiences, to data, tracing migrations, narratives of displacement, and movement of people. Map makers also hold power as the visualization of borders, spaces, and structures–real or imagined–influence one’s understanding of the world. How can we use mapping as a tool of empowerment? What application of mapping are you utilizing to explore the world around you? How do we map worlds? What are the implications of mapping?
