Come meet and hear artist Tabitha Soren talk about her project “Surface Tension”, showing at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College now through June 9th. Witness a collection of Soren’s photographs that capture in essence the demand of the digital age. The photographs in this exhibit all appear to be smudged by fingerprints, and resemble the screens of the phones we spend much of our day looking at. Soren’s ability to capture the images left behind by our fingertips are an ode to our age of consumption, our engagement with the digital world, but also the briefness of that engagement.
The artist, a former television journalist, has an intense connection to the way media influences the general public, and the way in which it is consumed. This project is a beautiful reflection on that concept.
