After a weekend of three very rad gigs in the city, I retreated back to Concord in need of a short break. The Eternals latest Ep titled Isn’t That Anyone was perfect for a kicked back night in the suburbs. As an admittedly sometimes pretentious teen, things with the word “pop” usually don’t attract my listening ear. Fortunately, this Ep was an exception. The consistent, modest vocals and lightly thumping drums fit together perfectly on each track. The songs Raised By Wolves, See You and Original Sin, give this Ep a dose of diversity. I loved the sway between chill funk, serenading pop and lo-fi sad/love tunes. The songs are very catchy and deserve your attention. They could also be played in the background of any poppin’ shindig and live up to the expectations of the hippest guests. Continuing with my trademark mention of food items in past write ups, I enjoyed a thick bagel before sitting down to produce this piece. Take my advice and listen to this very solid Ep.
