Cheatsheet: This week in art

by

If you’re getting a taste of the cool cozies tonight it might be time to put your nose in some art-lit-fiction.  I’m reading Kris Kraus’ I Love Dick, and I’m late to the party.  It’s all longing and the failures of art and the double bind of women’s sexuality and it’s a brilliantly annoying book that reveals itself.  If you haven’t read it do.

Around town I’m excited about Alastair MacLennan’s performance which is TONIGHT in JP, (((CRZ.F.4NRS.AAK))) at BU gallery 808, and nerding out at Harvard’s Art Study Center where you can see all the famous stuff and not under glass.  Judith Leeman’s new work at Proof (South Boston), and while you’re there, you might as well see Feeling Feeling at the Distillery: art doodles with plenty of (you know it) feeling.

Detail from Claire Ashley’s (((CRZ.F.4NRS.AAK))) at gallery 808.
