OPENING of FLASH OF AN INSTANT @New Art Center (Newton)

Expand your mind, and reconsider what you think you already know with this group show curated by CAITIE MOORE and SARAH POLLMAN. The multi-media exhibit explores and questions photography’s ability to accurately document our experiences. On display are photographs by JOHN STECK JR.,ROBIN MYERS, MARK DORF, SAM A. HARRIS and SHARON HARPER. There are also kinetic sculptures by ANNE LILY that mark and change the space they occupy, hidden paintings by JOHN C. GONZALEZ and THOMAS WILLIS and an interactive installation by PABLO GNECCO. Get on the green line and get out there!

GRAND OPENING: Tru Love @Sweety’s (South End)

This looks to be exactly the kind of place we <3. Four young Latino artists (Julia Pimes, Bryan Rodriguez, Ximena Izquierdo Ugaz, and Eduardo Restrepo) band together to start a gallery/cultural arts center in a tiny space just off the Harrison St. Art-Strip in the South End? Magic! So come out to celebrate this incarnation of TRU LOVE, with performances from Andisa Jones, Santiago Cardenas and Branden Paillant, plus six local folk will contribute the first pieces to grace wall and shelf. April 4th // 6-11 pm // 59 Wareham St. (South End)
