Meet Fran from SavonDeCruzan Body Works:
When did you start making soap? have you always had the same technique?
I started making soap in 2014 after realizing that most of the oils and butters I used to make lotions and hair creams for personal use can be used to make soap. Once I got started I could not stop. I learned different soaping techniques and currently participate in various online soaping technique challenges.
How do you make your loofah soap, and how does it work?
The loofah soap is made by placing pieces of loofah (a natural scrubbing sponge) into a mold. Then scented thin soap batter is slowly poured over the loofahs. The loofah soap is then left for a couple of hours to become solid. The loofah soap is a great way to clean and exfoliate the skin at the same time. Just wet the bar and gently rub over wet skin.
What’s your favorite scent to work with?
My favorite scent to work with is lavender. Lavender is a great relaxing scent and behaves really well in all the products I make.

Where do you find your ingredients?
My ingredients are from various places. Most of my plant/herb items used in my products are from a small gardener located in the United States Virgin Islands. Most of my oils and fragrances are from online wholesalers
Which soap is best to give as a winter holiday gift?
A sea salt bar would make a great winter holiday gift. The sea salt works as a great skin softener while exfoliating dry winter skin.
