BIG 3 ART: Confront Your Issues!

by

It’s like every month the Compass gets a different outfit from one of our favorite artists”

–Emma Leavitt, Compass Creative Director

December is upon us, and it’s time to reflect on the past year’s worth of amazing local art. Join us, Boston Hassle’s Compass, December 14th at the Garment District for a one night pop-up exhibition. CONFRONT YOUR ISSUES is the first show of its kind for Hassle, where the 2017 Compass illustrators will be exhibited all together. Come hang out and get to know the team, artists and volunteers involved with this monthly paper.

While the Compass has grown from a one-page rag to a widely-distributed monthly zine, we’ve always provided a platform for new artists, shows, and writing. The very first issues included illustrations and design from artists close to the local music scene, and we’ve since branched out to include unique illustrators from all niches in our community.

Illustrators who are chosen to work on an issue of The Compass have profound effects on the general design and layout of the paper. The Compass puts forth effort into making sure that our readers have new works of art with each issue.

CONFRONT YOUR ISSUES will showcase artworks by all of the 2017 Compass artists. The Garment District will be open for thrifty business as usual. Works will be hung on the freshly formed GPS (Gallery Possibility Space), a compactable and modular art viewing environment, new to the Boston area. There will be beer and refreshments offered to support the Hassle Organization, as well as the option to live your Pinterest dreams and make crafts with outdated Compass issues.

Artists we have worked with this year are: #94 Alizee De Pin (@alizeedepin) / #93 Aaron / Demuth (@noraahtumed) / #92 Nick Shea (@Nick_Shea_) / #91 Cassandra Long (@caseislong) / #90 GOBBY (@celtric_cringe) / #89 Mithsuca Berry (@foxyfries) / #88 Adelaide Bruce (@mermurdr) / #87 Sage Schmett (@sageschmett) / #86 Sean Watroba (@thankyou_Sean) / #85 Chloe Conceicao  / #84 Sarah Rae / #83 Sally Schofield (@ham_sanguish)
