We heard the beginnings of a sweeter side of JACUZZI BOYS in parts of their last album, and after hearing “Domino Moon”, I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be hearing even more of it on their upcoming HARDLY ART release. Gabriel Alcala’s recognizably drifty effortless vocals ease their way around a lagoon of deeply layered guitars, while the rhythm section keeps our feet on the ground. This track and “Double Vision” prove that they’re moving past simple garage rock, full steam ahead into uncharted territories. They’re thinking about details, and clearly spent time and energy on making sure these recordings are just so. I’ve got high hopes for this new album, and judging by what I’ve heard so far I don’t expect disappointment.
