ALBUM: Compilation of Scandinavian Zine on Ephemera @ Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts (Harvard) FREE

Norwegian artists Eline Mugaas and Elise Storsveen have been publishing ALBUM since 2008—a magazine featuring found selections of printed material dating from the 1960s through the 1980s. Imagine scrapbooks of cultural ephemera arranged on themes of nature, femininity, the space program, architecture, and more. A compilation of the first ten issues of ALBUM are on display in the Display Case on Level 0 of the Carpenter Center.

Eline Mugaas studied at Ramapo College, New Jersey, and Cooper Union, New York. She has had solo exhibitions in Oslo, and her work has been included in a group exhibition at MoMA in New York.

Elise Storsveen studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry and the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts, Oslo. She has had exhibitions in Oslo and was part of the group exhibition Millenium Magazines at MoMa, NY along with Eline Mugaas. She has had public commissions in Ila Prison, St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim, and at the Litteraturhuset in Oslo.
