TONIGHT, take the red line to Davis Square and check out one of our favorite Somerville destinations The Nave Gallery Annex. Their latest installation Inside and Out features the photographic talent of two local photographers Alberto D’Agostino and Nicholas Schietromo. Large color photographs explore the multiple sides of domesticity with a sense of voyeurism and intimacy. D’Agostino turns his lens towards the neighborhood. He captures images of suburban life devoid of glamour while highlighting the mundanity of everyday. Schietromo will exhibit two series of works, the first is an introspective study of home and self- looking specifically at the lives of his aging grandparents. The second project utilizes discarded photographs of other people’s families. Thrifted images are digital manipulated to make comment on the imminent decay of our expanding digital archive.
